Q: Are the webcasts live?
A: The lecture portion of the webcast is pre-recorded. The question-and-answer portion will be live provided by webinar and conference call (see What is the difference between a webcast and webinar?) Doing a live question-and-answer after the webcast offers audience interaction.
Q: What is the difference between a webcast and a webinar?
A: A webcast uses a split screen with a speaker on one half, Power Point slides on the other. A webinar shows slides only and you hear the speaker's voice, but don't see the speaker.
Q: How do I join a webcast?
A: You will receive an email invitation from messenger@webex.com or the HICORE program with the url address (for the visual) and the teleconference connection (for the audio) information. To join the meeting you will need a computer with internet access and a telephone to hear the audio portion of the webcast.
